Reentering the Work Force: Strategies for Reconnection and Reinvention

This interactive dialogue will focus on the issue of women who changed their professional lives to have children but who are now interested in reentering the workforce in some substantive way. In the session, we will share resources, skills, and strategies for thinking about our next phase and will include examples of women who have successfully reinvented their professional lives or reconnected with the world they were in before they left to have children.

Facilitator: Cathy Cramer ‘82 is the founder of NeXXt Phase, a network of over 125 New York City women who are redefining themselves and providing each other a safe, trusted community of support and resources to achieve goals and find the work they love.

Facing Profound Challenges– Stories of Strength and Hope

Life sometimes presents unimaginable— seemingly formidable— obstacles. Classmates share their stories of hope and promise, having faced extraordinary challenges in different aspects of their personal and professional lives.

Facilitator: Wayne Meisel ‘82, president of Bonner Foundation, is a minister and civic leader who has worked for 29 years to create, design, build and sustain, community movements across the country with a particular focus on engaging young people.

Making Major Career Changes

Have you made– or considered— a major career change? How do you know when it is time to do this, how do you find the courage, and how do you carry out the change? A panel of classmates will share their thoughts and experiences.

Facilitator: Michael Anderson ‘82 facilitates career changes in his professional life as Managing Partner of the Northeast Region of Spencer Stuart, a global executive recruiting firm.
