I did not know Lucy -- but surely there is someone who has a memory of her, of who she was. How can there be not a single person in our class who has something to say about one of our own???

I knew lucky a little bit as a freshman. Until today I remember her goodness. We had some very stimulating conversations about religion and music. I treasure her memory.

I corresponded with Lucy for two summers, and thought of her as one of the gentlest, most considerate people I knew at Harvard. We had sung together in the University Choir and had always anticipated our friendship would be renewed after she returned from Italy. But my life in medicine has persuaded me that life’s far more fragile than any of us would like to believe. She is still much – missed.
